Short Bio
Eijiro Miyako received his PhD in Chemical Systems and Engineering from Kyushu University (Japan) in 2006. During his PhD studies, he worked as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) for one year. Shortly thereafter, he joined the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) (Japan) in 2006, where he began his independent research career.
He also worked as a visiting scientist at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) (France) from 2012 to 2013 and at Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) from 2017 to 2018.
He joined the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) (Japan) as an Associate Professor on July 1, 2019, and was promoted to Full Professor on October 1, 2024. He also served as an Advisor to the JAIST President from October 1, 2024, and as Research Director at the Research Center for Exponential-Biomedical Engineering (Research Core), JAIST, from 2021 to 2023.
As of April 1, 2026, he is a Professor at the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Tohoku University (Japan).
